In the 75th anniversary of the celebrated act of resistance depicted within it, Anthropoid is surely the most exciting and authentic of the many films to tackle the fateful 1942 assassination of Nazi Reichsprotektor Reinhard Heydrich.

Utilising many actual locations as well as a replica of the central Prague church where the “Operation Anthropoid” agents made their desperate last stand, this thrilling international production features Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan as the heroic Czechoslovak paratroopers Josef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, alongside Czech star Aňa Geislerová and French Canadian actress Charlotte Le Bon.

The Opening Night film of the 2016 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Anthropoid’s further honours include nominations for 12 Czech Lions.

CaSFFA’s screening of Anthropoid is dedicated to the late Tatana Mihulka.
